“WE WILL NOT GIVE DIRECT TEMPORARY PROTECTION STATUS”

Cataklı, who stated that there is a population movement from Syria that is mostly male due to economic reasons, also explained the new application to be started regarding the granting of temporary protection status to Syrians.

Deputy Minister Çataklı, “Temporary protection status directly for unregistered, newly arrived Syrians We will not let them in. From now on, we will take them to the camps, we will investigate them. We will see if they need temporary protection or not, for what reasons they came. We will not allow economic migration from Syria, especially Damascus and its surroundings. The camps we have determined, no matter where in Turkey they are caught There is, we will force them to reside in those camps. We will evaluate the temporary protection status there” 

Cataklı, who also touched upon the short-term tourism residence on the question, added that those who want to take up residence in Turkey for touristic reasons will not be granted residence in the new period.
