Forgery operation in Istanbul: They were caught when they mistyped the letter

While many fake documents were seized in the operation, the word ‘republic’ was written on a document with the letter ‘p’, that is, ‘pebuplic’, which led to the scammers getting caught.

Istanbul Police Department Financial Crimes Branch teams continue their operations against people who forge documents.

The teams have been informed that the documents used by some foreign nationals in their applications to reside, receive education and work in Turkey are fake.

The teams, who took action on this, started an investigation on the subject.

As a result of the work done, the documents of foreign nationals who applied to official institutions were checked one by one.

In many papers, ‘republic’  ‘republic’  ‘p’  is written as ‘pebuplic’ .

The financial police, which carried out extensive studies on this determination, revealed that the documents were organized by a network.

Six people were detained in the operation

The teams that followed the network members carried out an operation to an address in Fatih, which the suspects used to prepare false documents.

While 6 suspects were detained in the operation, many forged documents were seized during the searches.

The documents include prison opinion document, immigration administration residence permit, power of attorney, identity, passport, undertaking, criminal record certificate, driver’s license, protocol document issued on behalf of the population and citizenship directorates, stamps issued on behalf of different consulates, public institutions and organizations, and fake 16 documents. It was seen that there were 1,450 dollars and 17 thousand liras in money.
